En Lego, och Playstation-fan, som kallar sig yakyah har nu satt ihop en PSP i Lego och lagt upp den på Lego Ideas. Det i sin tur är en hemsida där man kan rösta på olika projekt och om projektet når 5000 supporters så tar Lego i sin tur en titt på det hela och möjligheten finns då att det blir ett officiellt bygge. Bland tidigare sådana har vi bland annat fått skeppet från The Goonies, huset från Ensam Hemma och nu senast rymdraketen från Tintin.
Bygget är visserligen gjort digitalt men skaparen säger att han gjort det helt enligt Legos alla regler och denna PSP består av (cirka) 333 bitar).
Beskrivningen av bygget lyder;
"The PSP can be widely considered as one of the most iconic handhelds of the mid 2000s. Its smooth and sleek body, with its vibrant yellow DC charging port and iconic clear shoulder buttons have been recreated in a bricky form factor. All while being almost 1:1 to the model it’s based after: The PSP 1000.
Specifications:
This model uses multiple slope pieces and SNOT bricks to c5pture the sleek complex curves of the PSP, with every detail that’s too small to be brickbuilt being in the form of stickers or prints to keep the intricate details, without making the build bigger than it needs to be. The UMD slot uses a simple LEGO bar hinge mechanism to make sure it stays flush. It is made of approximately 333 pieces."
På hemsidan berättar designern om inspirationen till att skapa denna modell av Sonys klassiska bärbara enhet; "During a trip back to my childhood home, I found my old PSP sitting in a box during some spring cleaning. With it came a flood of happy memories. This drove me to start work on a recreation of the device as a decorative, interactive model to hopefully give fellow fans of this device a similar feeling as to what I felt."
Bygget i sig innehåller även en UMD-demodisc och möjligheten finns såklart att stoppa in denna i "maskinen". Skaparen har även designat stickers för kanten av enheten. I skrivande stund har den 1495 supporters och måste alltså då nå 5000 för att den ska väcka Legos uppmärksamhet.
